ConCourt rules in favour of ANC’s ‘final button’ argument against IEC Picture: Michel Bega / The Citizen The Constitutional Court has ruled that the ANC will be allowed to appear on the ballot in the six municipalities where its candidate list submission was disputed. The party was successful in convincing the ConCourt justices that even though it did not click the final submission button, its lists loaded onto the IEC’s database should still be accepted. ANC legal counsel Advocate Daniel Berger had argued on Monday that the final button on the submissions portal was not a legally binding requirement for acceptance, as the data was loaded on the system prior to the stipulated deadline. IFP’s Asanda Duma captures hearts with his good looks! [video]
While Asanda Duma is focused on his political ambitions, it is his good looks that have seemingly captured the hearts of many on social media. Duma, a young politician representing the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP), is actively campaigning for the coveted Ward 10 councillor position in Estcourt, KwaZulu-Natal. IFP’S ASANDA DUMA CAPTURES HEARTS WITH HIS FACE CARD Facebook user Mayor Mduduzi Myeza shared a viral video that drew over 2,000 comments and 51,000 likes. In the clip, a woman can be heard admiring Asanda’s handsome face while looking at a campaign poster. She also playfully says that his good looks alone were enough to earn her vote, adding that his contact details should have been included on the poster. She said: “We will vote for you because you’re handsome, but they should’ve included your number as well. Could we please have your number?” ELECTION SEASON IS UPON US The election season is officially upon us, as the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has confirmed that preparations for the 2026 Local Government Elections are underway. Naturally, political parties have rolled out vigorous campaigns in a bid to garner support and votes. Among them is the IFP, which launched its manifesto in September 2026, reinforcing its presence as one of KwaZulu-Natal’s leading political parties. The IFP has thrown several hats in the ring ahead of the elections, including that of Mkhuleko Hlengwa, whom the party is touting as its mayoral candidate in eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality. Meanwhile, Asanda Duma is also forging his political career, with many seemingly warming up to the young leader.

Andile Mpisane claps back with ‘AI-statement’
Andile Mpisane has responded to a claim, reportedly by his ex, Sithelo Shozi, accusing him of neglecting his children. The Royal AM soccer boss and amapiano artists has two daughters, Florence and Coco, with the influencer, and another two, Miaandy and Messiah Shauwn with his wife, Tamia. In recent months, Tamia has dropped her marital surname, fuelling rumours that the couple have separated. ANDILE MPISANE RESPONDS TO ‘DEADBEAT DAD’ CLAIMS On his Instagram, Andile Mpisane denied allegations that he had neglected his children. The “AI-generated” statement read: “My responsibilities and commitment as a father should not be judged on the basis of speculation, assumptions or one-sided narratives. I have continued to contribute towards my children’s education, including paying their school fees, and I remain committed to their well-being and future. Andile claimed that his access to his children had been “limited” and that he had recently “reconnected” with them. He continued: “My decision to remain silent about private family matters should never be mistaken for a lack of responsibility, love or commitment. I will not allow assumptions or speculation to define my role as a father or undermine the efforts I have continued to make for my children. “My focus remains firmly on rebuilding and maintaining a meaningful relationship with my children, supporting their education, and ensuring their emotional, physical and overall well-being remain a priority” Andile Mpisane – the son of businesswoman Shauwn Mkhize, or “MaMkhize” – did not specify which of his ex’s children he was referring to. However, in the comments section, followers suggested his statement was in response to Sithelo Shozi’s TikTok claims that he had not seen their children in “six years and counting”. Without naming him, Sithelo claimed that Andile was an “absolute deadbeat”. @sa_gossiplab_exclusive Andile Mpisane has responded after Sithele Shosi accused him of allegedly failing to maintain their two daughters for six years. She also claimed that the children do not live with him, despite what is portrayed on social media. In his statement, Mpisane says he has continued contributing towards his daughters’ education, including paying their school fees. He also claims that his access to the children has been limited and that he has only recently had the opportunity to reconnect with them. Mpisane says he has chosen to keep the matter private out of respect for his children, insisting that his silence should not be mistaken for a lack of love, responsibility or commitment as a father. #sagossiplabexclusive #sagossiplab #gossipmates ♬ original sound – reatlegilee__ EXPECTING AGAIN Sithelo Shozi has three children: two daughters, Florence and Coco, with Andile Mpisane, and a firstborn son, Makhosini Maseko, whose father is businessman Phillip Maseko. She is expecting another child with her Zim businessman partner, Kudzaishe James Magura.
