Miss World South Africa 2026 Romanda Hombir has responded to social media commentary about her identity. She’s even distanced herself from being labelled “Chidimma 2.0” The clinical audiologist was crowned this week by Africa Beauty International, which also owns the Miss Universe South Africa and Miss Supranational franchise titles. The Miss World finale takes place on 5 September in Vietnam. MISS WORLD SA CLARIFIES IDENTITY On social media, Miss World South Africa Romanda Hombir has been scrutinised over her identity. Some social media users have even accused the 27-year-old of being a “Chidimma 2.0”, referring to another beauty queen who is facing deportation over her illegal immigration status. She said: “I have understood where people’s concerns are coming from because we want to know that whoever is representing our nation is South African. I am proudly South African.  “I am born and bred in South Africa, in Nelspruit. My mother is a black woman; she is of Swati and Zulu heritage. Here is what we know about Miss World South Africa Romanda Hombir. She is a 27-year-old clinical audiologist who has worked at several government clinics. She is of Swati, Zulu and German heritage. Her pageant advocacy programme focuses on health access, health literacy and community empowerment. Romanda Hombir has spoken publicly about living with endometriosis and has been vocal about women’s health issues. It’s not the first time she’s participated in the Miss World South Africa pageant – in 2024, she placed as the second runner-up.  Last month, she placed in the top three at Miss Supranational South Africa. Romanda will represent South Africa at the 75th Edition of Miss World, which takes place on 5 September.
