He managed to keep us balanced and to be the link between the defence and the attack. He was really, really top in the middle.“I really congratulate him, and I hope he’s going to continue to work hard to be efficient in the middle,” added Ouaddou. Commenting on the game, Ouaddou admitted that the victory against Gallants was not straightforward, despite the final scoreline.“To be honest, we won 2-0, but this game was very difficult. This team has energy, and they are very powerful, so it was a tough game,” said Ouaddou. Following the win against Gallants, Pirates will now have three weeks to reset before meeting Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 final on 10 October at a venue that is yet to be confirmed by the Premier Soccer League.

Jayde Adams’s tombstone has been revealed after his untimely death in July. On it, the  25-year-old was immortalised as a Mamelodi Sundowns player. The former Bafana Bafana reportedly took his own life shortly after the national team’s return from the FIFA World Cup, where they had played in the US and Mexico. Jayden left behind two children – a five-year-old daughter with partner Aqueelah Adendorf, and a toddler son with another woman. Sundowns have retired the jersey for the 2026/2027 season in his honour. JAYDEN ADAMS TOMBSTONE REVEALED In an Instagram post, Jayden Adams’s partner, Aqueelah Adendorf, shared a look at her partner’s tombstone. In the pictures, the Bafana WAG stood beside the couple’s daughter, Allaia-Jayda, at Jayden’s grave at the Jamestown Cemetery in Stellenbosch. On his tombstone, Jayden donned his Sundowns kit as he lifted the CAF Champions League title. Aqueelah shared a sombre moment: “Just me and Allaia, standing where your name will forever live. 🤍  “We miss you more than words could ever explain, Jayden. Sello Maake kaNcube is launching a new men-focused initiative called Men of Purpose (MOP).  The actor, who has claimed to be a reformed domestic abuser, is hoping to create a dialogue amongst men about masculinity, fatherhood and responsibility, amongst other things. The news comes as many South Africans have implored men to take accountability in protecting their partners amid a scourge of gender-based violence crimes. SELLO MAAKE KANCUBE LAUNCHES MEN-FOCUSED MOVEMENT On his social media platforms, Sello Maake kaNcube has announced his plans to launch a transformative men’s movement called Men of Purpose. The initiative seeks to create a space for “honest conversations about identity, purpose, leadership, healing, accountability and legacy” The inaugural Men of Purpose event will take place on 17 October 2026 at Sakhumzi Zoo Lake Restaurant in Johannesburg, Sello said of the initiative: “Men of Purpose is not about presenting men as perfect. It is about creating a space where men can confront themselves honestly, recognise their responsibilities and make conscious choices about the men they want to become. “Purpose begins within, and from there it extends into our families, communities and the legacy we leave behind”. REFORMED ABUSER Sello Maake kaNcube has spoken openly and transparently about his past as an abusive man. In an interview on Kaya FM’s breakfast show, the soapie star shared a side of him that not many fans knew. When asked if he had ever hit a woman, he responded: “Yes, I did.” Sello – who played the iconic character Archie Moroka in Generations – also opened up about how he rehabilitated his behaviour as an abuser back in the 1980s. He continued: “For me, it took introspection. When I saw I had my father’s temperament…I practised a timeout.” He added: “I realised what was one of the drivers [to the abuse], which was insecurity and jealousy.” For anyone who is experiencing similar struggles, Sello Maake kaNcube advises: “Deal with yourself first. It’s not what the other person does. It’s how you react to it. And while he admits to relapsing in 2000, Sello added: “For as long as I live, it won’t happen again.”
